There’s nothing like a touch of the flu & bleak days of wind & rain like today to send the imagination off to brighter, prettier times. Last week I attended the River Island Spring/Summer 17 preview & I can tell you there was nothing dull nor dark about it. Imagine stepping into a candy coated haven of pastels that’s what it felt like at the Grafton Street Headquarters.
Wardrobe essentials were draped in sugary pinks, dusty golds & sprinkles of pastels. Throughout the collection there was a nod to the ever creeping trend of the eighties. With elements of gingham, khaki & leopard print thrown into the mix.
Be prepared this summer to fall in love with the decade that brought frills, shoulder pads & oversized silhouettes because there will be no avoiding the eighties. With hit shows like Netflix Stranger Things it was inevitable the style of the eighties would have its come back. And that’s not all. This spring/summer embrace the inner girl in you as pink is the new black. Fashion adores nostalgia and well who are we to complain with such delicious delights coming to store.
The touch of frill & rainbow edges give just enough 80’s style to this sweater. Match with skinny jeans to bring it forward to this century
This dusty gold coat will keep the chill off those spring evenings
Frill are this seasons must have details, bringing these cute cropped pink trousers to the top of the runway
Step away from the pastels & into this cool cropped khaki jacket. It’s all about the hood detail
Leopard print should be a staple piece in every wardrobe even if it’s just through accessories. These mules are right on target for spring/summer17
