So Spring is back in town and it couldn’t have come any quicker! It’s amazing how over a weekend you can see a huge stretch in the evenings and the skies are brighter & happier. As the new season has popped its head over the weariness of winter my attention has diverted to what I will be wearing for Spring/Summer.
I have to admit that I do love winter clothes. I like that it’s easy to get ready. Throw on a skirt, sweater & black opaque tights and you’re generally good to go. Also this season I have had a real leather fetish with the majority of my winter items having some form of the textural material on it. So while I’m starting to think about what to wear for the next season I am just a smidgen apprehensive.
A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to the A|Wear Press Day at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin. It was one of the first bright, warmish days we’d had in a long time so it made it so much easier to comprehend the bright, fruitful colours that were on display. The room was adorned with rails of this season must haves which were accessorised with cute cup-cakes and afternoon delights for us guests.
For Spring/Summer the Irish brand really have something for everyone. My love for the Jackie O look was tended to with their Eden collection which includes an array of 50’s style pretty dresses in sugar-plum pastels of pinks & greens. The Chanel-esque jacket is on my must have list.
If the girly look is not your thing then the Camden Cool look would be right up your street. This included my most favourite piece which I have subsequently bought & that is the Parka. With its hint of leather on the sleeves this not only satisfies my obsession but it is also the perfect Spring coat.
Monochrome is also a significant trend this season. It’s so easy to do & is trend proof as it pops up every few seasons. My favourite from the A|Wear Mono-Pop collection is the sleeveless striped dress.
And so I stepped out of the Merrion Hotel that evening a little less apprehensive & a little more ready to step into spring. All I need now is the discovery of how to achieve the perfect tan without streaks or risks to the health…maybe that can wait for another year!
