Snow Saviours

Oh the snow. How I prayed so often as a kid that it would just snow! And actually I’ll confess I may have said a few little words last weekend to keep the snow. I do love it, though, it’s now been a week & even though I live in Dun Laoghaire (close to the sea, where there shouldn’t be snow) & all the roads are clear, I can’t get my little car out of its parking space. It’s stuck & I’m bored! I’ve made homemade soup, I’ve cleaned the house, I’ve even done some sewing…but cabin fever is cabin fever & I wana go drive my car!

Ok…now that I’ve had my little rant, I just want to dedicate this post to my most important fashion accessory this week. If it wasn’t for my trusty doc boots, I wouldn’t have stepped outa the house. These rubber soled, punk icons let me enjoy the glistening snow filled streets of Dun Laoghaire. They gave me the stability I needed while being bombarded with snow balls from my darling boyf and they kept my feet warm & dry while I built a life-size snow man. (not hard really when your my height!).

Docs may not be everyone’s favourite footwear of choice, but I’ve always been a fan since my Cure Head days of the nineties (everyone was doing it; if it was now we’d be Emo’s). Last year I bought a flowered print pair, much to my boyfriends dismay (former punk, not loving the flowers). I think they’re cute. They’re a juxtaposition of floral femininity & a masculine leathered boot. A perfect combination

And now my docs have become my snow saviours!
