"To retain your position in fashion you have to keep moving forward." Paul Costelloe

It was a exciting end to the week today as London Fashion Week opened. To kick off the event our very own Paul Costelloe showcased his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. I have to confess I am slightly obsessed with Costelloe's home-ware collection for Dunnes Stores. In fact I have all his mugs, plates, pillows and recently I purchased gorg tote bag with his signature fashion sketch printed on it. I looove it and it's just perfect to carry all my fabulous fabric for my fashion design class. As ever Costelloe's show was a delight. This season he was inspired by Montana Winter and his signature tweeds were seen throughout. Beautifully tailored tweed twisted bustle skirts were paired with billowing sheer blouses, sky-scraping platform heels and skin tight leggings. A look which is guaranteed to be seen strutting down Grafton Street next Winter.

Despite the excitement of the shows the opening was of course met with a sombre mood as the great Alexander McQueen was honoured. A minute silence was held as a mark of respect for the designer who will always be renowned for his provocative shows. And in a bit of good news it was announced that McQueen's label will continue, proving just how great the designers legacy will be.

Oh and by the way I hope you will all tune into DublinSouth FM tomorrow morning at 11.15 a.m. to hear more of my style whisperings!
