"A designer is only as good as the star who wears her clothes", Edith Head, Costume Designer & Eight Academy Award Winner
Hello to day 2 which is in fact a week late! The reason why is because it's been one of those weeks. As most people in Dublin will know, thanks to the beautiful big freeze, which I loved, some of us have been without water, including me. That was fine I popped to the gym and actually used my membership to shower and only shower which of course has resulted in a lot of New Year guilt which we won't talk about. And so from no water to lots of it flooding my apartment my week has been all about water and little about fashion which is never good.
So now that the water has been moped up I now have the time to update my blog. I started by adding to my profile info including my profile pic. I hope you're all just as crazy about my make-up and fantastic fake pink eyelashes as I am. A great friend and even better make-up artist Miss Sue Kierans is responsible for the fairy-like look. The dress I'm wearing was a great find in BT2 in Blanchardstown. It was my first trip to Blanchardstown and I was in search for one of those dresses that not only stands out from the crowd but can be worn throughout all the trends. The dress is by Max C London and the only BT2 store to carry the label is Blanchardstown. At the bargain price of only 60 euro I bought two. One in black and one in a striking coral colour.
I couldn't let this week go by without mentioning the Golden Globes. I may be a little late with my thoughts but the red carpet is huge event in fashion terms. I've heard some mixed reviews and a lot of them were slating the style which I wouldn't totally agree with. Nude, blush were all over the catwalks and while we are all shivering with the cold in good old Ireland, the spring colours feel a bit out of place but in a few months time we will all be baring nude!
Of course Sandra Bullock was the woman of the night and her purple Bottega Venata dress was right on the fashion track. Fergie really surprised me her girlish take on a paler shade of purple. Mr. Clooney's lovely lady Elizabetta rocked the nude look with a stunning Roberto Cavalli masterpiece, while Courtney-Arquette Cox, put posh on the red carpet with a Victoria Beckham design.
The next few months are a red carpet fest which promises to feed our fashion appetites. Bring it on!
